    curfew
    breakfast

I thought I’d enjoy a delightful stay, but who can appreciate a curfew of 11 pm? I guess I was expected to bring my pillow and sleep on the street instead. Also, the breakfast, while traditional, was a culinary maze with no guide. I almost gave a good review, but just couldn’t.

    Tranquil Retreat near Gion

Staying in the Japanese-style room felt like a true escape, with serene gardens that added to the ambiance. The staff’s warmth and willingness to help, despite language barriers, made a lasting impression. For breakfast, be prepared for traditional Japanese fare. consider enjoying a light snack beforehand.

    beautifully presented breakfast
    peaceful communal bath
    spotty wifi

I had an amazing stay! The breakfast was beautifully presented, although it took some time to get used to the flavors. The tatami-style room felt traditional yet modern, and I loved the peaceful atmosphere of the communal bath, perfect for unwinding.

Loved my stay! The room had air conditioning, tatami flooring, a private bath, and even yukata. The public bath felt like a spa, super relaxing after the day. Staff were patient and helpful, even found us a cab in the snow. Such a spacious room with great amenities.

    fine location

    Perfect for couples seeking tranquility

The location was fine, with beautiful gardens surrounding the temple. I loved how the staff held our luggage for us after checkout, which made things super convenient for our late flight!

It wasn’t exactly budget-friendly, but still acceptable.

Spacious, clean rooms provide a peaceful retreat close to the vibrant area. Staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, easily offering vegan food options. However, finding transportation during adverse weather proved challenging, delaying access to the bath. A minor daily breakfast menu could enhance the dining experience further.
